This blind is very nice for the price. Setup and take down is a breeze. I didn’t have any issues hunting out of this blind. For the price this piece of hunting equipment is hard to pass up. At 26 lbs this blind isn’t backbreaking to haul into and out of the woods.
The windows on this blind open and close to fit the required viewing angles. To help with concealment you always want to have a black backdrop behind you. By opening only the required windows allows the hunter maximum concealment and covers a lot of movement. The windows can be a little strange at first from other blinds but once you get used to them, they are a breeze to operate.
This blind is 70″ tall. At 6′ tall this is helpful to move around inside. The blind is big enough to comfortably fit 2 people and their gear. A word of advice is to clear the area where you are going to set up on prior to setting up the blind to make moving around silent as possible. I have hunted out of this blind with my nephew and nieces and we had plenty of room.
The blind packs up into a bag. This is my only major complaint about this blind. The bag is not a backpack style but only has one strap. The blind shifts around hauling it in and out. A second strap to haul it with would have been helpful. I have another blind that has the backpack straps so I use that bag so it wasn’t that big of a deal for me.
I not only use this blind for deer hunting but also turkey hunting. Blinds are the bane of turkeys. Being that it is basically a mobile house, it does help keep you warmer on cold days. I added a small propane heater which keeps the blind comfortable.
As long as you brush it in I haven’t had any issues with deer seeing the blind. Take the time to add elements to break up the outline. The added stakes help keep it in place on windy days.
That being said you still have to be mindful of the wind direction. An Ozonics machine will help a lot but I still try to place the blind where I can be downwind of the path I expect the deer to come. Every little bit helps to get in range of your prey.
Wrapping it up
Overall this is a very good blind. I’ve hunted out of it multiple times and have taken not only deer but turkeys out of it. The added concealment is very helpful. Being on the ground does hinder visibility a little bit but I’ll give that up for the added comfort and concealment. Being that it has a roof and walls I find that it makes hunting on bad weather days more bearable.
In conclusion I highly recommend this blind. It has served me well over the years and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I especially like the fact that I can take kids with me and not have to worry about their movement.
